The Setting
Corner Gas Animated, Corner Gas: The Movie and Corner Gas the original sitcom are set in the fictional town of Dog River, Saskatchewan, and focus on the life (or lack thereof) of gas station owner Brent Leroy, coffee shop proprietor Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we’re used to seeing on TV. It isn’t Pleasantville and it’s definitely not Mayberry. It’s a little town with a definite edge where not much happens and people like it that way. But invariably, when things do change, just a little, all hell breaks loose.
Corner Gas Animated is Dog River unleashed – it’s bigger and bolder and can go more places than the live action series, but it maintains the Corner Gas comedy and characters the series is famous for. It’s a reimagining of the original Corner Gas with all-new episodes and all-new adventures in an animated world.
