Brent Leroy: The Everyman
A pleasant, quick witted guy who’s maybe lazy, but maybe just doesn’t seem to have an ounce of ambition beyond a beer and a hotdog, because hey – life’s pretty good, whattaya gonna do? Brent owns and operates Corner Gas and is the most normal person in Dog River… until Lacey moved to town.

Lacey Burrows: The Fish Out of Water
No matter how hard she tries to fit in, Lacey just doesn’t seem to belong in Dog River. A smart, strong-willed city girl, Lacey moved to Dog River to run the coffee shop attached to Brent’s gas station. Getting used to small town life is going to be difficult. Getting used to the people who populate this small town… that may never happen.

Hank Yarbo: The Dim Bulb
Hank is an upbeat, and generally likeable guy who just, simply, is not that bright. He’s bordering on stupid, and has been known to cross that border frequently. And, like most stupid people, he’s pretty sure he’s the only one who has it all figured out. Hank has been Brent’s best friend since grade school… for reasons Brent himself can’t understand.

Wanda Dollard: The Razor
The retail assistant at Corner Gas, and Brent’s right hand, Wanda is freakishly highly educated, and far too-smart-for-her-own-good. She’d rather be inside her own head, formulating theories on particle physics and robotics than ringing up some rube’s order. In fact, she’d just as soon kill you as ring up your order. But that’d cause even more distractions, so… fine, whattaya want?

Oscar Leroy: The Crusty Crank
Brent’s dad, and former proprietor of Corner Gas, Oscar is theoretically retired. But in a town this size there’s nothing to do but nose around and complain. Complain about the way Brent’s running things. Complain about where the customers are parking. Complain about the shape of the clouds. Nothing is off limits. “These crows are fatter than they used to be! What have you been throwing away out there?”

Emma Leroy: The Boss
The matriarch of the Leroy family. Brent and Oscar… and everyone in Dog River… defer to Emma, because (a) she’s probably right and (b) she could kick your ass. No one in town has ever seen her hurt anyone, but they have seen her throw a cinder block ninety yards. You don’t want to be on the wrong end of that.

Sgt Davis Quinton & Officer Karen Pelly: The Law (Such as It Is)
The veteran cop who loves to cosplay and wedding plan, and the keen young rookie who wants to make a name for herself in the world of crime fighting. To be honest, neither are particularly good cops. But hey, we’ve all known authority figures who had no business being in charge of anything.
